  • Photographing new properties and requesting topographic surveys for our records.
  • Reviewing offers to purchase for potential deals.
  • Due diligence work on potential acquisitions and new deals.
  • Liaison with conveyancers on all property related matters.
  • Obtaining existing council plans on potential acquisitions.
  • Obtaining demolition permits on new properties.
  • May require applications through heritage specialists or Heritage Western Cape.



  • Assist in development conceptualization through understanding market requirements, site parameters and development trends.
  • Consultant Management & Coordination: General coordination and logistical management of the various parties prior to the launch of new developments (architects, QS, Brokerage, Engineers, etc.)
  • Coordination of final unit plans and floor plans
  • Creation of project briefs and timelines
  • Development Collateral Coordination: Sales Plans, spec sheets, building details (incl. draft budget & levies) and legal documents and requirements
  • Assisting Brokerage/Conveyancing Attorneys in the preparation of the required documents through understanding of development.



  • Managing and undertaking the NHBRC registration of developments (units and SPVs)
  • Town Planner relationship management and oversight
  • Development Application Management: General and ad-hoc Municipal interaction. This includes tracking, budgeting and reporting on applications.
  • Practical Completion and Occupancy coordination.
  • Obtaining all compliance certificates for transfer from the construction team
  • Arranging the final Land Surveyor measurement of each development and submission thereof to the SG for approval.
  • Coordinating the final SG plan with the Brokerage Department/Conveyancing Attorneys and confirming correspondence.
  • Managing and reporting on each development’s project timeline and process.
  • Projects Viability Management.
  • Managing & coordinating external consultants (Project Architects, Town Planner and Quantity Surveyor)
  • Running weekly Blok project meetings in office.
  • Drafting of Project Reports for Shareholders.
  • Neighbour Communication Management and General Development query resolution.
  • Development and Market trend analysis (incl. Development Applications)
  • Key relationship management role as the representative of Blok to the City of Cape Town and other authoritative entities.
  • Planning and compliance requirements for development feasibility through coordination with various parties.
  • Ensuring inspection and sign off of all relevant professionals and officials.



  • Digitising and hard copy filing where necessary
  • Maintaining and updating systems and processes
  • Any and all ad-hoc items as the company sees fit

Qualifications /Experience/Qualities:

  • Property Studies/ Town Planning/ Construction degree or similar
  • Minimum 2 years industry experience, but 3+ preferred
  • Experience in town planning or development coordination preferable
  • Strong attention to detail and highly organised
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
  • Strong skills in Excel, Outlook and Word (MS Office Suite)
  • Ability to learn new systems (PropertyBase, Teamwork, City of Cape Town Systems)
  • Positive and professional attitude and appearance
  • Must be able to multi-task
  • Must be able to work successfully in a team



  • R25 000 – R30 000 per month CTC, depending on experience

  • Any other expenses to be approved and reimbursed on an ad hoc basis
  • Company to cover travel related costs at R3,20 per km
